It has always been said in america that you could be anything you wanted and many children have dreamed of becoming president, but now after the election of the first African American president that dream is more realistic to many. Barack Obama grew up with his mother and Granparents. He spent most of his adolesents in Hawii with his grandparents attending a prestigous college prep school called Punahou School on schoalrship. Barack started to become very influential in college where he started making headway by becoming the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. Around this same time Barack decided to start a family and make his way to achieving the American Dream.
When Barack Obama announced his canadicy for president mixed emotions were felt around the United States. Fear, excitment, opposition and support filled America. Some protested while others cherred and Obama carried on his message for change. He was soon endorsed by many, including myself, including Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, the New York Times and Stephen Colbert. He fought threw threats, racism and broke sterotypes to get to be one of the most influential people in the world. He was successful in not only becoming president but also inspiring a nation. He grew up in a broken home and is now running the United States of America. He has a family and though he is stressed he is happy with the life he is given. Still the most important part of Barak Obams historic presidency is the new sence of pride and freedom it gives to the big African American population of the U.S. He has changed the country in ways no one thought he could.
